Forgiveness Meditation

Meditation for forgiveness of self and others?

Recently I was asked to speak on forgiveness and how it relates to healing and well-being. I was also asked to lead a meditation. I offered several suggestions and I thought you would benefit from this specific practice because even if you don’t care about meditation you can do this easily.

Originally taught by Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, Ho’oponopono is the ancient Hawaiian secret to forgiveness. Essentially meaning to “make right” the practice offers forgiveness of self and of others.

This little mantra I will share with you below packs a powerful punch. Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len cured an entire ward of criminally insane patients without ever even meeting. Search his name online to read the details.

It looks like this:
Set an intention and choose the person
Mentally or orally say the following:
I am sorry
Please forgive me
I love you
Thank you
Repeat as many times as you like
Find the practice on Youtube or play music while or just say it as you go about your day

Each one of these phrases carry an energy that supports releasing and finding peace. Try it out for yourself and let me know how it goes.

SPECIAL RUNNING THROUGH AUGUST
6 months of coaching/meditation or 2 (3) hour sessions without coaching for training

Time Does NOT Heal all Wounds

Not for one second do I believe that “time heals all wounds.” This catchy, all too often used phrase, intended to pacify someone in pain simply isn’t always true. True healing requires truth not time; truth about who you really are, truth about how you feel, truth about your relationships, and truth about your choices. Healing requires an entirely new level of self-awareness, a willingness to be honest, and a capacity to be receptive to change.

” Until you heal the wounds of your past, you are going to bleed with food, with alcohol, with work, with cigarettes, with sex; but eventually, it will ooze through and stain your life. You must find the strength to open the wounds, stick your hands inside, pull out the core of the pain that is holding you in your past, the memories, and make peace with them.” Iyanla Vanaznt

My chosen career field arose out my own suffering. I am no stranger to pain and my stubbornness and perfectionism have often proven to be less than ideal in numerous situations… Being in the business of helping people I still find myself seeking to help people feel better through inspiration and positivity. However, the truth is sometimes the truth hurts.

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light but by making the darkness conscious.” Carl Jung

Carl Jung is/was a famous psychologist and psychiatrist who made numerous contributions int these fields of study. Jung proposed that everyone’s personality includes four Jungian Archetypes that help you understand your behaviors and they also influence the way you think and act. One of those aspects is referred to as “The Shadow” or the “the dark side of the psyche, representing wildness, chaos, and the unknown.” (learning-mind.com) Jung believed in the power of the unconscious mind and understood that repressing your desires or qualities you stifle your growth.

Uncovering your “darkness” will lead you to healing. These are aspects, ideas, beliefs, attitudes, traits, behaviors, and feelings that you are not aware of, have avoided or refused to acknowledge. It is through your acceptance of yourself wholeheartedly that you will find true healing, peace of mind, happiness, and freedom. AND you will be able to make conscious decisions!

As always, I am going to suggest meditation and mindfulness. You have to quiet all the chatter in your mind to get the truth. Silence speaks. ALWAYS. Mindfulness at its simplest means to pay attention on purpose and be at peace with the moment despite any “chaos.” They both lead to self-awareness which is an aspect of emotional intelligence desperately needed in our society.

In meditation you can ask for the answers. If you simply stop, notice your breathing for a few minutes, focus on your chest and then your heart, gently bringing your awareness back each time your mind wanders, notice how you feel, think of situations and then notice how you feel, think of certain people and ask questions and notice what comes to you. The idea is not to pass judgment on what you are feeling, thinking, or experiencing. Journal about these experiences!!! Please note that sometimes things or feelings come up that are bothersome if that occurs always ask for help.

During the day you can practice mini moments of mindfulness. How do you feel when you see a meme or post on social media? How do you feel when talking to your boss? How do you feel while cooking dinner? How do you feel in traffic? How do you feel when home alone? Are you emotionally reacting or consciously choosing your actions? What are the thoughts in your mind during these experiences? Sometimes when you can not get in touch with the feeling knowing the thought will lead you to the feelings. My awareness of my thoughts has often lead me to understanding my beliefs and my judgments. Not always easy… but so worthwhile.

Never fear the “shadows” as they remind you that there is light nearby. Remember that what you resist persists. Forgive yourself for what you didn’t know at the time. It is in your acknowledgement of ALL OF YOU that you will find healing.

Thank you,

Creating Health and Happiness

There are only three things that can make your dreams a reality; your thoughts, your words, and your actions. If you desire healing in any form and want more joy in your daily life then you would be wise to consider changing your thinking, speaking kindly, and taking action steps to reach your goals.

Let’s consider the mind, my favorite subject, for a moment.  Deeply rooted in your subconscious are beliefs that help create your reality in the physical world. Some of this was learned, some of it decided before you came here, all of it accessible and able to be changed for your greater good if you choose to utilize certain practices such as meditation.

As for speaking, your words also have creative energy. Speak kindly of yourself and others. Use words that feel good. My sense of humor tends to be on the side of sarcasm and I would do well to find a way to be more positive in cracking jokes about myself.

Action. Yes, you will have to actually do something to get something. Although, there is good in stopping and just being. You will need to have clarity on a goal as well as what steps you will need to do take to achieve success. The goal and the steps will need to be clearly defined and realistic.

I believe that the way to creating health and happiness begins with knowing yourself. You need to know what you are passionate about, you need find clarity on what you really want as well as what it looks like and feels like, you need support, encouragement and love, you need believe in yourself, and you need to trust that all is well.

There are five basic principles for creating a healthy and happy life; awareness (self-empowerment at its best), acceptance (somewhat more challenging), attitude (yes, you have a choice), action (do something), and acknowledgment (gratitude). Utilizing these five principles will change your life. Knowing how to use them is key.

I offer online, phone, and in person coaching sessions that can show you how to use these principles to change your life.  I am available to teach these to organizations and am teaching a class on November 6 on how to use these principles to manage stress. Please register online at http://www.intuitiveomaha.com for the November 6th class and please visit my website at http://www.creativewellnessomaha.com

Did Jesus Die So That You Could Be Forgiven For Your Sins?

Today I attended my Grandmother’s funeral. God Bless you Grandma, I know you are at peace. I, however, was not feeling peaceful during the service.  The concept that Jesus died so that we could be forgiven for our sins and granted eternal life never made sense to me. This minster was quite adamant that if you did not believe this that you will not be allowed into the Kingdom of Heaven and that you would suffer for eternity. I do not believe this and for multiple reasons.

First, my curiosity caused me to research many different religions and to attend a variety of different spiritual practices. Those experiences alone at the most basic level have me ask ; “What about Buddhist or Hindus?” Are they going to hell?  I found that many different churches (Christianity based) taught different things from the same Bible. Different ministers had different perspectives on Scriptures.  Some of the most influential courses I took were Silva Life System courses. I learned to really understand Quantum Physics, the mind and how it relates to spirituality, as well as religion. The first Silva class I took was taught my a Catholic priest. This man agreed that the Church messed up and that the Scriptures were not being taught as they were meant to be.

I have also watched a number of history programs and one stands out above the rest. Did you know that there are other books of the Bible? One being Adam and Lilith? You see, Lilith was Adam’s first wife. There was a group of people who decided you did not need to know that information. Lilith embodied that which all women should, she was sexual and sensual, and all woman.  This story should be one that was left in the Bible, as should they all really.  If select books are edited, left out, and what is remaining  is then translated into a different language and left for interpretation by the reader how can you really know?

I believe in God. I believe that God is everywhere and within each and every one of us and that God is a kind God.  I believe that we are eternal. You do not need to be saved. You and I are spiritual beings having a physical experience. You came here to learn just like a child does. You will not get it perfect all of the time, you are not supposed to. You are already forgiven.

That Energy that is of God flows through you is how you use your God-given gifts.  Your purpose here is to find God, and there are many paths, and do good with your gifts.  This could be an artist’s painting, the playing of a piano, the building of a home, the nurturing of a child, or anything that allows you to do what your passionate about that helps the world be a better place.

You need not worry about any religion telling you that you are less than God. You need not pay attention to anyone preaching ideas that feel threatening.  You simply need to follow your heart. You are of God and you are eternal.
