Be the CHANGE! Raise Consciousness!

Why is it when you buy a car you “suddenly” notice so many other people driving the same car?

Believe it or not this is no accident, it’s science. The reticular formation is a part of your brain that helps determine what gets through to your conscious attention. Once you buy a car your brain automatically adjust and allows this new information in. So now you see your car, the same car, even the same color everywhere. There was not a sale on cars where you and countless others bought the same car. You just have the capacity to notice that particular car now. This is often referred to as the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon or frequency illusion.

Do you really think it only works for cars buying?

What if you consciously decided to think about and allow some other ideas to come into your mind? What if you became more conscious and noticed things you never even thought possible and never knew existed before? How different would your life be then? How different would this world be?

Right now we are sitting at a turning point in evolution. We have a global pandemic that is going to alter all of our lives forever. In this moment people are at home stating they are in “lock down,” schools are closed, businesses lost, domestic violence rates rising, and people are walking around terrified of germs and hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer

Is this the direction you want the world to go?

It is time to wake up and pay attention. Pay attention to your intention. What you think about you bring about. Mindfulness of your thoughts, feelings, and actions matters more now than ever before.

Choose wisely.

To help you see your potential power I invite you to read the following essay by Charles Einstein. I have followed him for years… I have thought all of the things he mentions but have not been able to put my thoughts and feelings into words. It is a bit lengthy but worth every single second you spend reading it.  AND it will raise your awareness allowing you an opportunity to see more than just a lot of cars like yours.

Now that you understand the power of your mind, use it for good. There are a number of meditation groups that are inviting people to take 20 minutes this Saturday, April 4 at 9:45 p.m. Central Time to imagine a better world. If your one mind can show you your new car seemingly accidentally, what do you think 1000s of minds intentionally together can do? You can do this for just a few minutes if that is all you have but… please pause and give thanks, send love, see the earth and all of its habitants happy, healthy, and peaceful, remember your freedom, see and feel the world as you intend it to be. AND share this!

Energy healing is something I strongly recommend right now as it will help with overcoming fear, building immunity, and so much more. Again, this may not have been in your awareness but once it is it can be life changing. Healing is actually vibrational. I’ll fill you in on that another time.

Cultivating Compassion: The Energy of Emotion

When someone smiles do you smile back? The energy of a smile :).

After a long winter with far too much snow shoveling, I welcome the sound of birds chirping, the smell of rain, the green grass, and the way the warm sun feels on my skin. While winter seems to be a time to reflect and hibernate, spring brings a vibrant energy that makes me smile and motivates me. The energy of winter feels different than the energy of summer and I feel different.

Have you ever walked into a familiar room or into a meeting in a bad mood and suddenly be uplifted by the positivity you feel? Is there someone in your life that every time you are with them you walk away feeling drained? We often refer to this as the “energy” of a room or being “empathetic.”

Google defines energy as the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity. (1st definition) Quantum physics states that absolutely everything in the Universe is made up of energy. Einstein said that energy could not be created or destroyed it could only be transformed. Everything is energy including your emotions.

There is a phenomenon referred to as emotion contagion. In it’s simplest terms this means that you unconsciously mimic another person’s non-verbal clues and feel the reflection of those people’s emotions. You can “catch” emotions.” Think of a time when someone was crying and you began to cry, they may even stop crying when you start. Imagine a time you were sitting at your desk angry and a co-worker walked in and knew to walk out without you saying a word. How about when a child was sad, how did you feel? Spouse have a headache and suddenly you do to? You are designed to be empathetic so that you can develop compassion.

Mirror neurons are brain cells that react both when you perform an action as well as when you observe someone else performing that same action. When you watch someone get pricked with a needle you know what they are feeling but you don’t physically feel the same pain in your finger. You may even almost move your hand but you won’t because of your brain circuitry. Mirror neurons enable you to view another’s state from a virtual reality standpoint and you become empathetic. This allows you to feel compassion which will motivate you to action. Isn’t the world a better place when you are compassionate?

Empathy and compassion are vital skills in personal development, professional successes, and all relationships. Below are simple MINDFUL ways to practice.

  1. Practice a body scan (Mindfulness Meditation)
  2. Listen to understand not to reply
  3. When overwhelmed by emotions and unsure of where it is coming from start asking; “Is this mine?”
  4. Practice Affect Labeling (Mindful Emotions)
  5. When in a challenging situation notice your breath, practice the pause
  6. Make a list of ways you can influence energy
  7. Make a list of actions you can take related to being compassionate
  8. The simple act of meditating cultivates compassion for yourself and others!!! Meditate today ūüôā

Transformational Thinking


Albert Einstein proved himself to be a free thinker who valued intuition, creativity, and the power of the mind to change your life. He is well known for quotes related to things such as: We can not solve our problems from the same level of thinking we used to create them and Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Ohhhhh….. I find myself guilty as charged for creating vicious cycles of repetition that lead to destruction leaving me feeling insane. ¬†My intention being to create the space, relationships, and success I truly desire. However, my stubborn, rigid thinking tends to feel more like a rat in cage; trapped and stuck. My over active mind wonders what the hell happened if my intention to do good seemed so clear.

The answers lie in your thinking. Your subconscious mind holds information that you ignore. Your mental story plays out in front of you. There are no accidents and no coincidences.You write the script with your thoughts.  Knowledge of this is incredibly powerful. Being aware that your thoughts create your reality allows you the freedom to change and to create. Transform your thinking, transform your life.

Science proves structural changes as well as the ability to rewire your brain through  meditation and other mindful practices. Considering it appears I shocked some people with my last blog, it seemed appropriate to add the more inspirational side of the story; “Out of the Darkness Comes the Light.

While writing “Figments of my Imagination” I was expressing some of my deepest, darkest feelings. These feelings are temporary. Emotions seem part of the human existence that most of do not entirely escape. We can try. We can stuff them and they may later manifest as illness. We can suffocate them with alcohol or drugs. We can avoid them by keeping busy and never finding true happiness. However, the feelings may remain within stifling your freedom.

Spiritual teaches often preach that one must be with the emotion, feel it, surrender to it, AND THEN it dissipates. The pain and hurt or anger and frustration will literally melt away if you can just allow those feeling to be what they are: A temporary feeling of emotion as a  spirit has a human experience.

When the cloudy gray sky lifts, the sun shines. There is clarity, peace, and love. It is where the darkness disappears and the light shines. It is from this stand point that you have freedom. Freedom To Be. We should spend our time surrounded by people that support the light that we bring to the world. We should spend our time doing the things we love and using our God given gifts for the good of all.

My experience has been that in the most difficult and challenging situations it was then that I found strength I did not know I had. It was then that I evolved and learned what I really needed to do. In my spiritual quest to understand human suffering, I learned that one must experience that which they do not want in order to know what they do want. You would not know the light if you did not have the dark is a phrase often used to explain such events.

I believe that we incarnate into a body on this earth with a few specific plans. I believe we choose another soul to help us to experience the opposite of what we want so that we can then choose to do something different. Imagine a tragic event, for example school shootings. Because of these event countless people will be inspired to do something good. They will be inspired to help change the world. The darkness will bring the light.

I am sure we have the creative power to create a world through God  that does not require  suffering. However, at this stage of our evolution we have some room for improvement on how to accomplish such a task. I do pray for a world filled with people feeling joy, peace and most importantly love. Perhaps if we all spent more time just Being and feeling those feelings? Maybe then we would not even notice the darkness, maybe then only the light would exists?

You Are What You Think

Somedays you know you would like to say something yet the words don’t come. Today I really wanted to write a blog that was inspiring and motivational and related to the power of your thinking. No words came to me. In my quest to fulfill this desire I went looking online and found the following poem:

Creating Health and Happiness

There are only three things that can make your dreams a reality; your thoughts, your words, and your actions. If you desire healing in any form and want more joy in your daily life then you would be wise to consider changing your thinking, speaking kindly, and taking action steps to reach your goals.

Let’s consider the mind, my favorite subject, for a moment. ¬†Deeply rooted in your subconscious are beliefs that help create your reality in the physical world. Some of this was learned, some of it decided before you came here, all of it accessible and able to be changed for your greater good if you choose to utilize certain practices such as meditation.

As for speaking, your words also have creative energy. Speak kindly of yourself and others. Use words that feel good. My sense of humor tends to be on the side of sarcasm and I would do well to find a way to be more positive in cracking jokes about myself.

Action. Yes, you will have to actually do something to get something. Although, there is good in stopping and just being. You will need to have clarity on a goal as well as what steps you will need to do take to achieve success. The goal and the steps will need to be clearly defined and realistic.

I believe that the way to creating health and happiness begins with knowing yourself. You need to know what you are passionate about, you need find clarity on what you really want as well as what it looks like and feels like, you need support, encouragement and love, you need believe in yourself, and you need to trust that all is well.

There are five basic principles for creating a healthy and happy life; awareness (self-empowerment at its best), acceptance (somewhat more challenging), attitude (yes, you have a choice), action (do something), and acknowledgment (gratitude). Utilizing these five principles will change your life. Knowing how to use them is key.

Struggling to find a topic to write about today I “Googled” my favorite subject: Mind Power.¬† The power of the mind kept me curious as a child and as adult it has become my passion.¬† The complexity and power¬†of thought is profound.¬† The power in the unfamiliar silence without thought just as magnificent and perhaps the place of most peace. Often it the place we seldom visit!!!¬† My fascination with the¬†ability quiet the chatter as well as use the thoughts we do have for good continues to grow. The poem below caught my attention when looking to feel inspired and I found it  The site has some interesting information for those curious about the power of the mind.  Think about this poem:


Mind is not a constant, its concentration waxes and wanes.¬† When the mind wanes the smallest you take action and follow through the next action.¬† Don’t let your spirit drop. Thoughts are at the top of a hill. Unchecked and attended the water will begin to flow down one part of the slope and will begin to form a well-worn gully. You’ve got to divert the spring at its source.
