Creating Health and Happiness

There are only three things that can make your dreams a reality; your thoughts, your words, and your actions. If you desire healing in any form and want more joy in your daily life then you would be wise to consider changing your thinking, speaking kindly, and taking action steps to reach your goals.

Let’s consider the mind, my favorite subject, for a moment.  Deeply rooted in your subconscious are beliefs that help create your reality in the physical world. Some of this was learned, some of it decided before you came here, all of it accessible and able to be changed for your greater good if you choose to utilize certain practices such as meditation.

As for speaking, your words also have creative energy. Speak kindly of yourself and others. Use words that feel good. My sense of humor tends to be on the side of sarcasm and I would do well to find a way to be more positive in cracking jokes about myself.

Action. Yes, you will have to actually do something to get something. Although, there is good in stopping and just being. You will need to have clarity on a goal as well as what steps you will need to do take to achieve success. The goal and the steps will need to be clearly defined and realistic.

I believe that the way to creating health and happiness begins with knowing yourself. You need to know what you are passionate about, you need find clarity on what you really want as well as what it looks like and feels like, you need support, encouragement and love, you need believe in yourself, and you need to trust that all is well.

There are five basic principles for creating a healthy and happy life; awareness (self-empowerment at its best), acceptance (somewhat more challenging), attitude (yes, you have a choice), action (do something), and acknowledgment (gratitude). Utilizing these five principles will change your life. Knowing how to use them is key.

Meditation is Against My Religion

Meditation is against my religion. Well, o.k. not mine, ( I don’t even have a religion) Although I have heard this from clients. Meditation, although spiritual in nature, has nothing to do with organized religion.  The act of meditation simply means to quiet the mind. I am not quite sure why a church would find this to be a bad plan but… The body needs rest so does the mind. When the chatter in your head that tells you that you need to do more or that your not good enough or anything of that nature finally stops, you have peace of mind. This quiet space allows you to feel the essence of who you are at the deepest level of your being. Now that is good stuff!

When one meditates the brain frequencies slow down. As adults much of our waking hours are spent in the higher brain frequency known as “Beta.” Beta frequencies allow us to access the left hemisphere of our brain. The left side of the brain is the logical side that allows us to reason, manage our time, and things of that nature. When one meditates the brain frequencies lower into “Alpha” or “Theta.” Now this is where the magic happens! These frequencies make it easy to use the right side of the brain. This side is highly creative, intuitive, and receptive. This is why “Hypnosis” works.

Hypnosis seems to be yet another term that scares people. Hypnosis, meditation, and here’s a surprise, RELAXATION are essentially the same things. Yes, that is right, relaxing, consciously relaxing, quieting the chatter of your mind, is hypnosis and it is one form of meditation. So what are you waiting for? Just relax!

Practicing meditation changed my life. It changed my life on a profound level. Meditation supports my health mentally, physically, emotionally ( I am way crabby if my mind doesn’t get a nap), and spiritually.  I am more relaxed and I allow things (things others would judge as bad) to just be. My creativity and intuition have soared and I feel I have an understanding of life and it’s purpose in an entire new light. What could be better than that?
